For those who have ever stopped to watch a glass blowing artist working hard at his craft, then you would almost certainly have an inkling why artists must have safety glasses. The craft masters need to function with very hot molten glass all day until it genuinely is shaped into what they're supposed to be. A slight bungle can result to a rather bad accident. Consequently, it truly is rather essential to have safety glasses.

Production of frequent use objects which include glasses and bowls continued, but glassblowers had been also experimenting, creating some lavish objects that we would now call glass art. The glass was augmented with inlays of gold and brilliant colours, increasing its beauty. A lot of of these vessels had been utilized to hold rare and expensive ointments, perfumes and cosmetics. During the Dark Ages in Europe glass blowing and production just about disappeared but as the continent came out of that age it started up once more, mainly in the production of coloured glass for the gothic architecture of the time. Glass art like the Rose Series Art on this page undoubtedly are fascinating art pieces to collect.

Rose Series Art

What would you call our wedding?

It started as once upon a time till death do us part as a theme. but has lately morphed into something more.
and i want to be able to call it by whatever style you would call it. i'm trying to incorporate the name of the theme in my invite wording.
please help and be kind, dont just tell me it doesnt need to be a theme. i want it to be a theme therefore it will be a theme.

Our wedding:
red and purple
a few skull details at the reception
probably gonna be at an art gallery (for the ceremony)
and then the hall for the reception we will put our own art in as well
damask print throughout
half the centerpieces will be candlestands and candleabras
the other half are gonna be a series of three vases with fake whimsical roses.

i think thats it, but i'll add more details if i need to.
EDIT: i forgot to add its got aspects of chicago in it too (where we are going after 1yr).

Seems a bit like a traditional Mexican wedding to me to be honest.... Dia de los Muertos. They incorporate skulls and skeletons of brides and grooms as decoration. And the motif (damask) would look very cool with the skulls and art.

GL!

During the Renaissance inside the 17th Century a book was published referred to as L'Arte Vetraria (The Art of Glass) by Antonio Neri, revealing the secrets of glass blowing and production. Venice became the centre of the glass blowing world. Nevertheless, locations in Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, England and Sweden were developing their own glass industries in what had been referred to as forest glass houses, which includes Kosta Glasbruk (still in existence today and known as Kosta Boda), a Swedish glassworks founded by two foreign officers in Charles XII's army. In 1676 there came yet another breakthrough within the glass industry. George Ravenscroft developed a formula for generating glass working with lead. The new lead glass stayed workable for considerably longer than other varieties of glass. Its weight and clarity led to glass makes working with it without decoration, developing lovely pieces with the glass alone. Additional attention was paid to the type of the glass itself, not what was adorning it.

The next key revolution in glass occurred inside the 20th century when designers and artists became an crucial part of the glass houses. Louis Comfort Tiffany, of Tiffany's, was inspired to begin designing glass, leading to the kind of goods you now see from the world renowned jewellery store. Following a drop in interest, the art of glassmaking created a comeback in the 1960s as glass artists began to work in their own studios, outside of the factory environment. All of the artistic experimentation accomplished in these studios is referred to as the studio glass movement. The studio glass movement is international and still developing. It started out as and American movement, and promptly spread to Europe, Australia and Asia. Glass art like the Rose Series Art on this page certainly are intriguing art pieces to collect.
